Brief Overview: Carpet Bagger based in Wakefield are looking to employ a new apprentice to join their flooring installation/carpet fitting team. The ideal candidate needs to be enthusiastic, willing to learn and develop new skills.

Qualifications required:
  • No formal qualifications are required for this role, however, a good level of English and Maths will be an advantage

Highway Operative Intermediate Apprentice

Study Programme at Aspire2B Wakefield

Level 1 Construction

This programme is delivered on a working construction site with a company in Castleford near the bus and train station after an initial induction to the course in Wakefield City Centre.  You will spend two and half days per week gaining construction work experience while working towards a BTEC Level 1 Award in Construction.

 

A bursary will be paid to eligible young people and travel expenses are reimbursed.

ESF Short Courses in Various Occupational Areas

For 16 - 18 year olds who are looking for help to move on.  A range of short courses of different durations available at locations across the Wakefield District and starting throughout the year.  Course options include Construction, Hospitality, Motor Vehicle, IT, Customer Service, Sport, Business, Health & Social Care and Outdoor Conservation. 

You will also:

  • Gain a recognised qualification
  • Take part in work experience or visits to employers
  • Improve your skills and confidence
  • Learn how to complete CV's and applications, and prepare for interviews
  • Get support from a mentor for 6 months after you complete the programme

To work with a small painting and decorating team on commercial and private jobs. You will be required to take responsible care of yourself and others and abide by Health & Safety, carrying out tasks in a safe manner and following instructions.


Pay: £131.25

Hours: 37.5 hours 8am-4pm Will be expected to work some Saturdays as and when needed.

Location: 8 Westfield Avenue, Pontefract, WF8 4NN

Qualifications required:

There are no set entry requirements, although GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and  English  may be helpful for calculations and theory.

Working towards:

College will be day release at a Barnsley College.

Work towards a diploma level 2 in P&D and NVQ level 2 in P&D. Possibility to progress to level 3 where appropriate.
