Dental Apprenticeship

Brief Overview: The Dental Nurse role complements the role of other dental professionals. One of the primary roles is to provide chair side support to dental professionals and deliver a high level of patient care.    
Pay: £140.00    
Hours: 40 - Monday to Friday 8:00am until 5:30pm Optional Saturday One late evening until 8pm. Flexibility is essential.    
Location: 144 Southgate, Pontefract, WF8 1QT    
Qualifications required: Maths and English grade c or above - not essential.    
Working towards:

Training will be provided over teh duration of the apprenticeship and will continue from the Employer upon completion. 

The Employer will provide one to one support and act as your mentor, allowing you to shadow and assist the Dental practice.

Acacia Training will provide one to one support, monthly observations, and guidance throughout to complete your apprenticeship.

Traineeships will give you the skills and experience to progress into an Apprenticeship or employment.  You will receive:

  • A high quality and relevant work experience placement
  • Work preparation training including interview skills, CV preparation and confidence building
  • Support with English and Maths and a recognised quilification in both(if required)
  • A formal reference from an employer
  • Support into an Apprenticeship or employment after successful completion of the programme

The programme will last upto 6 months.

ESF Short Courses in Various Occupational Areas

For 16 - 18 year olds who are looking for help to move on.  A range of short courses of different durations available at locations across the Wakefield District and starting throughout the year.  Course options include Construction, Hospitality, Motor Vehicle, IT, Customer Service, Sport, Business, Health & Social Care and Outdoor Conservation. 

You will also:

  • Gain a recognised qualification
  • Take part in work experience or visits to employers
  • Improve your skills and confidence
  • Learn how to complete CV's and applications, and prepare for interviews
  • Get support from a mentor for 6 months after you complete the programme
