EDEN Food and Drink Engineering Apprenticeship

Brief Overview: Having people with the right skills is key to the success of our business and to ensure this we are recruiting apprentices for the award-winning EDEN scheme. This training programme was started in 2009 as a ground-breaking initiative by the dairy industry aimed at developing highly competent engineering & maintenance technicians for our dairies.
Wage: £16,000.00 (AAnnual Wage) 
Working Hours:

At College: Mon-Fri (08:30 – 16:30) but may include 12 hour shifts when at site over 4 days including nights. Any night shifts will be in line with government age-related legislation.

Working Towards: Great future career opportunities and progression within Arla.  The natural route upon completion of the programme would be to step into a full time Engineering Technician role on one of our sites.  In terms of long term progression, some of our previous Eden graduates are now senior managers on site.

Our award winning apprenticeship programme is a four year programme, the first three years are spent on the job learning in the depot with an allocated mentor and attending a specialist training college.

Working Towards:

Our award winning apprenticeship programme is a four year programme, the first three years are spent on the job learning in the depot with an allocated mentor and attending a specialist training college in either Glasgow or Wolverhampton (depending on home location). 

You will work towards a ‘Mechelec’ qualification so will be equally skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering.  You will work with a skilled mentor who will guide you through the apprenticeship.

The fourth year of the programme has been specially designed by Stagecoach UK Bus to consolidate technical skills by way of attendance at a series of development courses including manufacturer’s technical courses.

After four years you will be fully skilled with a rewarding career ahead of you.
