S reached out to the Wakefield Digital team upon completing her GCSE’s. S had hoped to join the army but needed to pass GCSE English before she could. Our digital career advisor spoke with S about the options available to her and upon reviewing these, S reached out to ask further questions. The team supported her in working out the best path for her to take. S decided to undertake a Traineeship programme that offered the chance to progress into employment upon successful completion. The Traineeship went well, and S gained a part-time job in catering afterwards. This allowed S to start the Study Programme in Public Services which would help her develop not only important military skills but English in preparation to re-apply for the Army.
