Description

Kick-start your career in education with a Level 3 Educational Support Assistant apprenticeship based at Kirkburton Middle School or Scissett Middle School. Gain hands-on experience supporting children’s learning and well-being while working towards a nationally recognised qualification in a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Training Description:
  • Training will be delivered online by the apprenticeship training provider.
  • The apprentice will attend regular online training sessions and workshops.
  • Off-the-job training will be completed during normal working hours in line with apprenticeship requirements.
  • The apprentice will receive support and mentoring from experienced school staff alongside their formal training.
  • The apprentice will work towards achieving the Level 3 Educational Support Assistant apprenticeship standard
Full Description:
  • Support pupils individually and in small groups to help them access learning. 
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging learning activities. 
  • Help pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills. 
  • Support children with a range of learning and developmental needs. 
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials. 
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupil well-being. 
  • Supervise pupils during lessons and other school activities. 
  • Work towards achieving the Level 3 Educational Support Assistant apprenticeship standard.
Outcome Description:

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the apprentice may have the opportunity to progress into a permanent Educational Support Assistant role, subject to vacancies and performance. The experience and qualification gained will also provide a strong foundation for further study and career progression within the education sector, including higher-level support roles and teaching support qualifications.
