Description

We need a motivated candidate who already has a foundation in engineering or welding and wants to improve their skills in a manufacturing environment.

This role is suited to:

  • Someone who has completed Level 1/2 Engineering/Welding qualifications
  • Students from UTC Leeds or similar colleges
Training Description:
  • Metal Fabricator Level 3
  • Training will take place at Printworks Campus, Leeds
  • You will attend college one day per week
Full Description:
  • Learn TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding techniques on thin gauge stainless steel to a high standard
  • Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, measuring, and setting up components
  • Read and work from technical drawings and job instructions
  • Use hand tools and measuring equipment accurately and safely
  • Inspect finished welds for quality, appearance, and compliance with standards
  • Work closely with skilled welders and fabricators as part of your on-the-job training
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE
  • Keep your work area clean, organised, and safe
  • Attend college and complete all required training as part of the apprenticeship programme
Outcome Description:

This role is designed for someone who wants to move beyond college training and become a skilled TIG welder and fabricator under the guidance of experienced tradespeople.

Description of Working Week:

Monday to Thursday 07:00 – 16:30
Friday 07:00 – 12:00
